Telling the story of your product
The founder story editor, the rules before publishing, and the pages where a story appears.

What you are writing
Think of it as the story of one product, told by someone who built it. If you founded several products, you write one story for each. Every co-founder writes a story of their own.
Finding your products
Go to Account > Founder story, at /account/founder/story. The listing's profile screen in your account carries a 'Founder story for <product>' card too. Your products appear in a list; each says whether its story is not started, a draft or published, with a button beside it.
Inside the editor
The editor, titled 'Founder story: <product>', breaks the story into six guided parts, from the start to what comes next. Nothing is lost if you stop: the draft saves as you go. Include up to 4 photos alongside the text. The writing helper ('Help me word this') works only from your own words.
Checks before it goes live
First make sure your founder profile at /account/founder is complete; the story displays your name and photo. Fill in at least 3 sections with 200 words or more in total; keep to 2 links at most and leave out prices and offers.
Where readers see it
A published story has its own address at /launch/<listing>/story/<founder>. The founder profile shows a list of your product stories, and /stories gathers all published ones. Founder stories belong to the full profile: a free listing shows the card locked until it becomes a paid launch. A card on the product's listing leads readers to it.
Old links still work
Wrote one story for all your products before? It stays on your founder profile as general text, and every new product story starts from it. Edit any time and publish again - the change is live at once. Earlier /founder/<name>/story links still take readers to your story, or to your founder profile if you wrote several.
Questions people ask
- I founded two products. How many stories do I write?
- Two: one founder story per product.
- What does 'Published on 3 sites' mean?
- The story of that product is live on three sites where the product is listed.
- Do my old story links still work?
- Yes. Old /founder/<name>/story links still work and lead to the product story, or to your founder profile if you have several.
